FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – For the second night in a row ACM events were distributed due to weather.
Saturday severe weather, strong winds and rain, paused the Party For A Cause concert at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
Many of the fans waited out the storm on the concourse.
The show resumed several hours after the storm hit, and was an abbreviated show. The resumed show was an abbreviated show for the second night.
As the storm began to roar and rage on the PA announcer at the ballpark told fans to take cover on the concourse.
A few fans with their ponchos decided to wait out the rain and wind in their seats.
For more than two hours, the concourse was packed with fans, as they watched CBS 11’s Jeff Jamison’s weather coverage on the big screen.
Most seemed to make the best of the situation, a few even sang Garth Brook’s “Friends in Low Places”.
“It kind of adds to the excitement. It was a beautiful day. We managed to get through the whole day with nothing. Now we have a little rain. We’re from New York – you know what kind of weather we get this time of yea,” says Eileen Mackle.
Though many fans were frustrated that for a second straight night there was a shorten show, they were glad the show did go on.
