GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM) – Two North Texas girls are apologizing for their terrible words and racist slurs, while choosing to remain anonymous.
The Grapevine High School students recorded and posted a more than 3-minute rap song filled with violent and racist lyrics two years ago.
“I want to kill you, I want to kill you,” one of the girls sings as she talks about her black male classmates who flirt with her.
The rap goes on to also talk negatively about Latino and Asian students.

The song was recorded two years ago, but recently began circulating on campus, prompting an investigation by administrators.
In a letter to parents, the principal wrote, “While I am angered by this reprehensible behavior, the school does not have legal authority over this event, which occurred when school was not in session.”
Sophomore Diego Deluna, 16, says he thinks the girls were simply imitating what they’ve heard in rap music.
“All the rappers now – it’s kind of what they say,” he said.
The two girls, who are now juniors, wrote apologies saying:
“Twitter was still fresh and we had never heard of anyone getting in trouble for posting anything on social media…. As kids we hear racist jokes all day. It’s what we’re around, it’s the jokes we heard.”
Grapevine resident Tony Gomez thinks it shouldn’t be taken too seriously.
“It’s kids doing stupid things.”
